The Oba also expressed sympathy to the musician’s worldwide admirers in a statement sent by his media adviser, High Chief Ajibade Olubunmi, and urged them to have hope.
The music mogul joined other outstanding Ilawe natives in bringing his hometown to the attention of the world by using his God-given gift, the Alawe stated in the statement.
The way Femi Ariyo spread his Ekiti music, particularly in the Ilawe dialect, like a whirlwind around the globe cannot be quickly forgotten.
“He dominated the Ekiti traditional musical scene for decades like a titan, garnering acclaim and earning numerous awards worldwide.
“We regard him as a good ambassador of Ilawe who did not disappoint the town in his chosen profession,” said Oba Alabi.
The monarch prayed to God to give Femi Ariyo’s immediate family the strength to cope with the loss and to provide Femi Ariyo’s soul eternal rest.
