The naira could drop to N10,000 to the dollar if immediate action is not taken, according to Pat Utomi, a prominent economist and leader of the Labour Party.
At a ceremony commemorating the one-year anniversary of the 2023 presidential election, which was organized by activist Dr. Moses Paul, Utomi issued this warning on Sunday.
According to him, the country is rapidly declining because people in power don’t appear to care about the common people.
Our nation is crumbling right in front of our eyes because neither the people nor the powerful think that the other is speaking for them.
“Everything is escaping, and they aren’t doing anything to help the people. Declining rapidly.
What we’re doing here is essentially seizing the day and doing what it takes to run this country as its citizens.
Taking back our country is an urgent matter that cannot wait till the next election in 2027.
Now is the time for us to step up and lead, since we have the answers they lack. He warned that the naira’s value would soar to N10,000 to the dollar if the country did not establish its own security mechanism.
