A seven-hour power outage was announced on Saturday by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) for portions of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The power outage is being caused so that the maintenance staff can perform planned preventive maintenance on the 132/33kV 2X100MVA Power Transformers in the Apo Transmission Substation. This was confirmed in a statement by Ndidi Mbah, TCN General Manager, Public Affairs, which was released on Saturday.

Moreover, she said that the scheduled repair work is from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

“As a result, for the next seven (7) hours, there will be a power outage occurring across both transformers. As a result, DisCo will not be able to distribute electricity to its customers in Garki, Asokoro, Lugbe, Airport Rd, Gudu, Gaduwa, portions of Lokogoma, Apo, Kabusa, Guzape, and Nepa Junction.”

She went on to say that by 4 pm on both days, power will be back on.
