Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has told the Abzinawa Damagaram, Zeinder, Niger Republic Peace Ambassadors that he will continue to advance peace between the two nations.

Buni provided the promise in a statement released shortly after meeting with the head of the Niger delegation, Abdullahi Ibrahim, in Damaturu through his spokesperson, Mamman Mohammed.

Gov. Buni pledged, “I will continue to promote peaceful coexistence among our communities and nations.”

The governor was given the traditional title of “Sarkin Yakin Zaman Lafiya” for Nigeria and the Niger Republic by the Niger delegation.

The title was given to Governor Buni in celebration of his efforts to advance peace and peaceful coexistence between the communities of Nigeria and Niger, according to the delegation’s leader, Abdullahi Ibrahim.

In light of the harmonious coexistence and infrastructure development in border villages, which are also enjoyed by communities in the Niger Republic, Abdullahi added, “We found it necessary to recognize you with this title.”

He said that residents in the Niger Republic also benefited from Gov. Buni’s efforts to improve healthcare access, the state’s transportation system, and its economy.

Remember that Governor Buni received the National Honor of “Commandeur dans l’ordre du merit du Niger” in December 2022 from Niger’s President, Mohamed Bazoum, in recognition of his efforts to strengthen diplomatic ties between the two nations
