This information was shared by Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, the Chief of Naval Staff, during a Thursday courtesy visit to Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State at Government House in Port Harcourt.

“There are threefold reasons for my presence here today,” he declared. The first is to let His Excellency know that this coming Saturday, a group of ex-citizens who have completed their training at our Basic Training School, Onne, will be officially joining the Nigerian Navy as ratings, which will strengthen our forces.

The second is to express our gratitude to the governor and the whole administration of Rivers State for the two secondary schools—the Ambassador Nne Krukrubo Model Secondary School in Eleme, which is located in the Eleme Local Government Area, and the Model Secondary School, Egbelu, which is located in the Oyigbo Local Government Area—that they generously gifted to us.

The school in Eleme has been refurbished in accordance with our strategic plan to relocate our facilities to regions with sufficient capacity to carry out our tasks. We would like to use this opportunity to notify His Excellency that this was done following that contribution.

“We are pleased to announce that the headquarters of the Naval Training Command, which was previously located in Lagos, will be relocating tomorrow to that specific school in Eleme. ”

Ogalla went on to say that the Nigerian Navy has made multiple arrests and seized fourteen ships that were found to be carrying stolen crude oil while he was in charge.

Responding, Governor Fubara urged the Nigerian Navy to stand steadfast in its battle against economic sabotage, especially the theft of crude oil from the country’s waterways.

The fantastic accomplishments the Navy has achieved in the state, thanks in large part to the enormous backing it has had from his government, were acknowledged with satisfaction by the governor.

We are collaborating; we will provide you with all the resources you need to carry out your responsibility, Fubara assured.

“Throughout your tenure, I am pleased to see that you have maintained positive and commendable records of achievement.”

Apart from the much-touted negative, Fubara noted that Rivers State is experiencing many positive things, and the good news is that oil theft has decreased. He also promised that these successes will continue.
