Three militants from Boko Haram were killed by troops in gunfights

In two separate operations in Zigue and Soueram, troops of Sector 1, Multinational Joint Task Force, MNJTF, situated in Mora, Cameroon, were able to neutralize three Boko Haram militants.

According to Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, spokesman for the joint task force, the first confrontation took place on 15 April 2024 near the Cameroonian border town of Zigue, when an ambush by the MNJTF forces killed one terrorist.

He states that on 22 April 2024, the operation was continued by the forces during an early morning confrontation in Soueram near the Cameroon-Nigeria border, when MNJTF troops killed two more Boko Haram militants.

Moreover, he mentioned that a PKM machine gun, an AK-47 rifle, five magazines, and twenty rounds of 7.62mm ammunition were retrieved during the operation.

The MNJTF is grateful to the communities who have helped make these victories possible via their support and knowledge.

“The MNJTF is resolute in its mission to ensure the safety and security of the Lake Chad basin and to eliminate the menace of terrorism in the region. We continue to call on the community for their continued and enhanced support,” he added.
