The Sokoto State government has established a five-person Commission of Inquiry to look into all land distributions and government assets sold or auctioned under the tenure of previous Governor Aminu Tambuwal.

Justice M.A. Pindiga (retired) and Secretary Nasiru Muhammed Binji are in charge of the committee.

The group also includes Chief Jacob E. Ochidi, SAN, Usman Abubakar, and Attorney Lema Sambo Wali.

The committee will also look into the government’s bank account and the money made from the sales and auctions of the assets, according to a statement from the governor’s press secretary, Ahmed Aliyu.

The statement reads: “The committee will examine the various allocations of lands throughout the state, including government-owned houses sold or auctioned.”

After its first meeting, the committee has two months to submit its report.
