Eleven individuals have been apprehended by the Osun State Police Command on charges of armed robbery, conspiracy, and theft.
At a news conference in Osogbo on Monday, Deputy Commissioner of Police Hope Okafor announced this.
The press briefing, according to Okafor, was planned to highlight the accomplishments of the Command recently.
The defendants were apprehended in separate sting operations, she disclosed.
Seyi Ojo (33 years old), Kamorudeen Quadri (32 years old), Ogbemudia Sunday (48 years old), Fatai Toheeb (22 years old), David Adebayo (43 years old), David Aderemi (30 years old), Olalekan Musiliu (35 years old), and Ayodeji Kehinde (39 years old) are all male suspects who have been detained.
They were found with several artifacts, including a red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, eight sacks of dry cocoa beans, a Toyota Highlander, a Toyota Corolla salon vehicle, various phones, and a gold chain, she said.
The Command also disclosed that a suspect named Dada Taiwo was taken to the hospital following a confrontation with the police in which he was shot.
Following the conclusion of investigations, the suspects will be brought to justice, as Okafor disclosed, as they have all admitted guilt.
The spokesman for the Osun police force pleaded with the people to visit the station and see if their belongings were among those taken from the culprits.
She informed the public that the Police Command is issuing a notice asking anyone whose possessions are part of the seized items to present identification at the Police Headquarters in Osogbo, Osun State, located at Ring-Road.
