PSG failed Mbappe, Messi, and Neymar, according to ex-director Leonardo

Leonardo, a former sporting director at Paris Saint-Germain, has acknowledged that Kylian Mbappé, Neymar, and Lionel Messi lacked the recognition and support necessary to foster a winning environment while they were playing together in France.

The past two seasons, PSG’s star-studded attacking trio won league crowns, but the team was unable to win the Champions League.

People require a comfortable environment. These players require a positive attitude, a sense of support, and recognition.

“And the ones who have to do that are the club, us, and the coaches,” Leonardo told the Brazilian daily Ge.

While Messi left the Ligue 1 champions this summer to sign with Inter Miami CF as a free agent, Mbappé is entering the final year of his current deal at PSG. Neymar made a €90 million transfer to the Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal.
