Mauricio Pochettino has taken to social media to announce his impending return to Stamford Bridge, marking his first public statement since leaving Chelsea two weeks ago.

In his first season as Chelsea manager, the Argentine overcame a rough start to get the club back into European contention.

But in May, he and the Blues mutually agreed to split ways.

Following Monday’s announcement, Chelsea officially hired Enzo Maresca as head coach.

Many were stunned by Pochettino’s departure, particularly considering his strong bond with the team and their impressive sixth-place finish in 2024 (with just three losses).

Despite the sudden breakup, Pochettino took to Instagram to convey his deepest feelings of thanks and affection for Chelsea:

From the players, staff, and fans—thank you to the owners and sporting directors—we are grateful for the chance to return to the Premier League at this fantastic club and for the support you have given us.

We strive tirelessly to provide you with a Chelsea of which you can be proud because we know how much this football club means to you.

My warmest wishes for the next season and beyond go out to each and every one of you.

It is fantastic that we can return to Stamford Bridge this weekend with SoccerAid; I would love to see some of you there as well.

My wish for you is that this summer is perfect. Hugs from all of us here at MP x.
