NMA plans a public demonstration to raise awareness of an abducted colleague in Calabar

Under the direction of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), medical professionals, particularly doctors, have chosen to stage a public demonstration in Cross River State to draw attention to the kidnapping of their elderly member, Prof. Ekanem Philip Ephraim, who is in her mid-60s.

Dr. Felix Archibong, the state’s NMA chairman, reaffirmed this and stated that on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, in the morning, association members will gather at the state House of Assembly building.

In a telephone interview, Archibong informed 460play that the fact that their senior NMA member and elderly colleague has been detained for more than three weeks has been upsetting and upsetting for them.

This is the reason we are peacefully entering the House of Assembly’s grounds to attract attention to the situation and make an appeal on behalf of her friends and family to the government and security services to assist in her rescue.

A few days ago, Jonathan Towuru, the Assistant Inspector General of Police for Zone Six, issued the state commissioner of police orders to use every tool at his disposal to secure the quick release of the doctor.
