Macaroni bemoaned the fact that while Nigerians endured intolerable hardship, their politicians were transferring money to take vacations.

His response came in response to a video that was going viral online in which Godswill Akpabio, the president of the senate, told his colleagues during a plenary session that “a token has been sent to their various accounts to enable them to enjoy their holiday.”

Nigerians have expressed their disapproval of the development in large numbers.

The social activist questioned why impoverished Nigerians had to pay for the wealthy lifestyle of their politicians in a post on his social media page on Wednesday.

“The Senate President has sent extremely expensive prayers to himself and his already blessed colleagues at the National Assembly out of the meager blessings of over 200 million people.

These are the leaders who have urged the poor Nigerians to make sacrifices for the good of the nation. Therefore, as Nigerians endure intolerable suffering, our leaders are sending money to themselves so they can take vacations.

If not for our leaders, then for whom should sacrifices be made?Do our leaders recognize the importance of sacrifice, selflessness, and service in leadership?
“Why should the underprivileged citizens of Nigeria foot the bill for the wealthy lifestyle of the rulers? Why??? This is not leadership, people.
