Anthony Elanga, a forward for Manchester United, has left the team to sign a permanent deal with Premier League foe Nottingham Forest.

On Tuesday morning, Man United made this disclosure in a statement posted on their website.

In part, the statement from Manchester United said, “We would like to thank him for his service at United.”

“The winger will return to Old Trafford on August 26 with his new team,” the statement read. “The transfer is for an undisclosed fee.”

Last season, Elanga made 26 appearances for Erik ten Hag’s team in all competitions, however he only started five Premier League games due to his decline in the lineup.

The 21-year-old earned his senior debut against Leicester City in the Premier League at Old Trafford toward the close of the 2020–21 campaign.

Elanga, an Old Trafford player who came up through the ranks after attending his local academy, won the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award in 2020.
