Enyimba, winners of the Nigeria Premier League, have announced the dismissal of their head coach, George Finidi.
Less than a month ago, Finidi led the Aba giants to an unprecedented eighth NPL championship.
For two seasons, the former Nigerian international oversaw Enyimba.
The technical crew was dissolved, the club said on Monday.
However, The Peoples’ Elephant instructed all the coaches to reapply for their posts within 48 hours in a statement signed by its sporting director, Ifeanyi Ekwueme.
Nwankwo Kanu, a former captain of the Super Eagles, was recently named as the club’s new chairman by the Abia State Government.
During their playing careers, Kanu and Finidi were teammates at the Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam.
