Families of dead police officers in Adamawa receive N32 million in compensation

The families of police officers who died in the line of duty or in a similar accident have received N32 million from the Adamawa State Police Command.

The checks were given to the surviving relatives of 53 such officers in accordance with the service group life assurance/group personal accident and IGP family welfare schemes, according to a statement from the state command spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje.

“Today, CP Afolabi Babatola, the commissioner of police for Adamawa State, delivered checks totaling N32,017,640.45 to 53 members of the immediate family on behalf of Ag. IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetekun.

The Next of Kin of slain police officers and accident victims were among the recipients of the checks, according to Nguroje.

He cited the Commissioner of Police as saying to beneficiaries that the IGP’s welfare program was intended to lessen difficulty experienced by the decedents’ close relatives prior to their receipt of benefits and to assist the accident victims’ medical conditions.
