Dankwambo seeks a probe into the protest by UNICAL students over alleged sexual harassment

Ibrahim Dankwambo, a former governor of Gombe State, has demanded an investigation into a student demonstration at the University of Calabar.

According to a story in 460play, some students protested inside the building when Prof. Cyril Ndifon, dean of the university’s faculty of law, was accused of repeatedly assaulting them sexually.

Late on a Monday afternoon, they circulated in groups across campus while yelling, “Ndifon, go! go!”

The students held up signs that read, among other things, “Ndifon Must Go!” Law girls are not a bonanza, Prof. Ndifon must stop grabbing our bum bum, and “We’re tired of sucking dicks for marks.”

Dankwambo responded on Twitter by stating that the students must be safeguarded and that the offender must face punishment.

“I urge that the serious sexual harassment claims made by female Unical law students against Faculty of Law Dean Prof. Cyril Ndifon be thoroughly investigated.

“Every student deserves to learn in a setting that is respectful and safe.

The police must make sure that justice is done and that the protesting kids are safe.
