Community Protection Guards (CPG) Commandant Colonel Rabiu Garba (retd) has been suspended by the Zamfara State Government.
This information was provided to newsmen in Gusau, the capital of the state, by Mallam Abubakar Nakwadahe, who is the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
Colonel Rabiu Garba has been suspended from his position as Commandant of the state Community Protection Guards, according to a statement that was released by the Zamfara State government.
The suspension is effective immediately.
According to 460PLAY, the state government was accused of underfunding the Community Protection Guards on a radio live program he hosted, and while no official cause was given for his suspension, it was speculated that the two may have anything in common.
According to Colonel Garba, who was speaking live on Vision FM radio Gusau, the state government has neglected to provide financial assistance to the Protection Guards.
He bemoaned the fact that the state government had failed to provide them a takeoff grant since their inauguration.
According to Garba, the protective guard officers have only received one wage payment since their appointment four months ago.
He claimed that the Community Protection Guards’ ability to combat banditry has been severely hindered by the state government’s inadequate budget.
