Pat Nevin, a former player for Chelsea, has urged the Blues not to offload defender Levi Colwill this summer.
Nevin thinks that Colwill is necessary for Chelsea and notes that the west London club has not yet found a replacement for Antonio Rudiger, who last year left Stamford Bridge for Real Madrid.
Nevin told OLBG, “I would be really surprised if Levi Colwill left Chelsea, though.”
“I believe Chelsea truly needs him since Rudiger was never fully replaced. However, he is still a young player because neither he nor Badiashile will be fully mature until they are 24 or 25.
Colwill was on loan to Brighton for the previous season.
The 20-year-old anchored England’s defense against Spain in the U-21 Euro championship championship game.
