Posted by According to the Zamfara State Police Command, the Zurmi division in the Nasarawa Area of the Zurmi Local Government Area was attacked by a gang of masked individuals armed with sophisticated weaponry.
The report stated that the responding police officers successfully repulsed the assailant’s assault following a fierce gun battle that resulted in the deaths of numerous bandits and the likely fleeing of others with bullet wounds.
Spokesman for the Command, ASP Yazeed Abubakar, made a statement in which he said that two other police officers were wounded by gunshots and that Divisional Crime Officer, DSP Shitu Musa, paid the ultimate price by dying on the spot.
The robbers burned down several homes and businesses in the neighborhood as they fled.
“Accordingly, having sent sufficient personnel to the region, MD Shehu Dalijan, Commissioner of Police, Zamfara Command, has assured the people of the state that the command, under his leadership, will persist in doing its utmost to safeguard lives and property,” he further stated.
