Over the course of three months, the federal government will distribute N50,000 to 100,000 households in all 36 states, and they will also buy food supplies totaling N155 billion, which will be distributed nationwide.

While launching housing, development, and other assistance programs for Nigerians, President Tinubu made this announcement during Thursday’s National Economic Council (NEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa.

Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Advisor on Media, made the announcement in a statement.

The President urged the governors to address their states’ food security concerns during the meeting.

A one-time allocation of N10 billion has been made to the states and the Federal Capital Territory for the purpose of purchasing buses and implementing the CNG uplift program, according to the statement.

Three months’ worth of N50,000 uplift handouts distributed to 100,000 families in each state.

Unions and civil society groups receive funding.

The distribution of various foodstuffs around the country will be funded by the purchase and sale of N155 billion.

In order to address the demands of our people, our states must collaborate to implement the necessary reforms. One of humanity’s most valuable resources is time. A surplus of it is impossible to achieve. We are running out of time.

“We can help you automate your farming operations and supply you with top-notch seedlings. We’re prepared and ready to lend you a hand.”

Our solar-powered irrigation infrastructure will help our farmers throughout the year, but we need to start producing right away. Members of the National Economic Council (NEC) must work together with purpose and coordination if we are to produce the food that our people consume.

During the NEC, infrastructure programs were authorized.

The president has given the go-ahead for the National Construction and Household Support Programme to be implemented nationwide without delay.

The Sokoto-Badagry Highway—which passes through Kebbi, Niger, Kwara, Oyo, Ogun, and Lagos—will be given top priority under this scheme.

The continuing Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Trans-Saharan Highway, which connects Enugu, Abakaliki, Ogoja, Benue, Kogi, Nasarawa, and Abuja, are among the major road infrastructure projects that Tinubu highlighted as priorities.

The Port Harcourt–Maiduguri Railway, which would go through several states including Rivers, Abia, Enugu, Benue, Nasarawa, Plateau, Bauchi, Gombe, Yobe, and Borno, was also given full counterpart financing by the president.

In addition, he authorized the continuation of the Lagos-Kano Standard-Gauge Railway from Ibadan to Abuja, which will run through the following states: Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Kwara, Niger, Abuja, Kaduna, and Kano.
