Governor Adeleke advised the members of the youth corps to always channel their complaints through legally recognized channels while urging them to uphold the national anthem and oath of allegiance.

The younger generation should always view them as role models, he further admonished.

During the swearing-in and official start of the 2023 Batch B Stream one orientation course at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Ede on Friday, the governor, who was represented by his deputy Kola Adewusi, made this known.

I want you to know that the government and our country value you, he said. Because of this, the government continues to support the NYSC Scheme as a way of interacting with you, demonstrating its concern for your empowerment and interest in your well-being. You must uphold the law and act as good representatives of your institutions, family, geographical region, and country in order to earn the nation’s and your family’s trust.

“In addition, I beg you to respect one another’s differences. Make friends and communicate openly with one another while appreciating and accepting your differences and assiduously identifying your shared traits. Consider and behave as though the person sitting next to you is your brother or sister, and the State’s citizens are members of your family. Additionally, be sure to follow by the Camp’s rules and regulations so that you can maximize your Orientation experience. I can guarantee you that my government will keep helping the state’s NYSC program to ensure your welfare and safety during the service year. I want you to let go of any unfavorable assumptions that could ruin the enjoyment of your service year.

“Dear Compatriots in service, I implore you to join us in growing and strengthening our economy by supporting entrepreneurship and skill development. As grads, be imaginative and inventive. Instead of merely considering what you can consume, start considering what you can generate or provide as a solution to the needs and issues of people. The secret to long-term success and riches is to adopt an entrepreneurial attitude and follow the road of assiduity, rigor, and industry.

Adeleke urged the corps members to uphold all laws and regulations, obey orders, and be law-abiding citizens. She also urged them to practice peaceful coexistence and refrain from engaging in the frivolities and exuberances typical of today’s youth.

The 550 more people displaced from Lagos to the state, according to him, have so far also been registered.

The state government’s renovation of the NYSC permanent orientation camp was also praised by the Osun NYSC director.

He tasked the corps members with keeping the program relevant by pledging to put in hard effort, do patriotic duty, and assist in community development.
