The specifics of the altercation that occurred at Banex Plaza in Abuja on Saturday have been disclosed by the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command.
According to previous reports from 460PLAY, a brawl between criminals and military officers caused chaos to break out at the famous Banex Plaza phone market in Abuja’s Wuse 2 neighborhood.
According to FCT Police Public Relations Officer SP Josephine Adeh, “One Suleiman Ahmed who had earlier gotten a phone from one Suleiman Ibrahim, a shop owner at New Banex, went with four soldiers to persuade the seller for replacement upon discovery that the phone is faulty, which met the resistance of the shop owner.” She went on to explain what happened in the beloved phone market.
A dispute and altercation with the military troops ensued as a consequence of the action, as reported by the police.
According to the PPRO, the development sparked a riot in the neighborhood as angry crowds attacked military officers in the market.
The military soldiers have been turned over to their organization so that they can take the required steps after all parties were invited for interrogation.
The Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth Igweh, has urged residents to go about their legitimate activities quietly and without fear from anyone, adding that normality has already been restored in Banex and its surrounds.
