Victor Ochonogor, 24, a final-year University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) student, is accused of fatally stabbing his lover Success Regha.

At 10 Osahon Street, Ogheghe Quarters, off Sapele Road in Benin City, Edo state, the incident took place.

On Tuesday in Benin, State Commissioner of Police Muhammed Dankwara disclosed the information and stated the 24-year-old had since been taken into custody.

He said that the suspect’s landlord, Emmanuel Momoh, had reported the event to the police.

The violent altercation broke out, and Ochonogor, a student of Applied and Industrial Chemistry, and his deceased lover reportedly locked themselves inside the home and began stabbing each other.

According to reports, the suspect used a knife to stab the dead in the neck and chest.

The suspect was found to have two blood-stained knives, two iPhones, a Nokia phone, a laptop, and two ATM cards, according to the list he provided.

According to the commissioner who claimed to have retrieved the knife, the suspect was brought to Stella Obasanjo Hospital for treatment after suffering a neck injury, and he would later be charged with murder.

Ochonogor claimed that he had been dating his deceased lover for three years and that she had traveled from Asaba to Benin to pay him a visit.

“She visited me in Benin from Asaba, and while we were together, I discovered a material that was thought to be demonic in her possession.

“The family has accused me of kidnapping her for the past three years that I have been dating her. I questioned her, “Why must your family accuse you of such things when you and I have been together for so long?”

“I’ve been observing her with Kayamata, and I also noticed a message on her phone indicating that she was seeing someone else. We got into a confrontation after which I stabbed her,” he informed news reporters.
