Title hopes are forecast by the likelihood model using preseason predictions and xG earned for and against during the season.

It also factored in the current campaign’s results, as well as all matches from previous season (in all competitions).

Based on 100,000 simulations, Manchester City has a 55.1% chance of winning the league, compared to 44.9% for Arsenal.

On average, City earned 88.7 points in the final projected standings, while Arsenal earned 87.8 points.

As a result, the lead was reduced to less than one point in the championship race.

With their 3-0 victory over Bournemouth under their belts, Arsenal are still atop the league, and they’ll be facing Manchester United on Sunday.

There is still a game to be played, though, because Manchester City have the upper hand.
