Nollywood performers receive little pay, according to Deyemi Okanlawon

Nollywood actress Deyemi Okanlawon has discussed the main difficulties faced by actors in the nation.

He claimed that actors in Nigeria’s film business receive criminally inadequate pay.

This was spoken by Okanlawon as he and Daniel Etim-Effiong were guests on the recent episode of Lights, Camera Stardom on MTV Base Africa.

I believe [Nollywood] performers are not being paid enough, he stated. On the other hand, we lack the financial acumen necessary to make the most of what we already have in order to safeguard our future.

“I also believe that the [Nigerian film industry] doesn’t provide enough for the actors to work with, both financially and in other ways,” Etim-Effiong continued.

For instance, I believe performers aren’t given enough time to get ready for their parts. Actors, in my opinion, aren’t given enough time to even work on themselves.
