Henshaw was responding to Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s assurance that “prayers” had been sent their way as they left for a break during Wednesday’s plenary session.
“A token has been sent to our various accounts by the Clerk of the National Assembly to enable us all to enjoy our holidays,” Akpabio informed colleagues.

Later, the Senate President withdrew the claim, rephrasing it as “prayers” addressed to their “mailboxes” instead of the purported dispersal.
Many were offended by the comment, particularly on social media, where they said the politicians were callous to poor Nigerians.

Kate Henshaw bemoaned the MPs’ lack of concern for the underprivileged Nigerians.
The only “prayers” pouring into Nigerians’ “mail” are more taxes, burdens, “grin & bear it,” and “we don’t give a f@#k,” she wrote.
“Happy holidays to those who are supposed to help and support their constituents. Nothing should be done.
