Illbliss pays tribute to Dagrin, the late indigenous rapper, saying, “Your legacy will never end”

Oladapo Olaonipekun, also known as Dagrin, was a comrade of Nigerian rapper Illbliss’s who passed away recently.

On April 22, 2010, the indigenous rapper who was quickly gaining fame passed tragically in a car collision.

“His legacy will never end,” Illbliss remarked in honor of the late rapper on this, the fourteenth anniversary of his passing.

On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, Illbliss sent a photo of Dagrin to X and captioned it: “Keep Resting Bro!

“Your impact will endure for all time.

Let us not forget you.

We honor your enormous, incalculable impact on Nigerian hip-hop. Many were moved by your story.

Take it easy.

Despite his untimely demise, many indigenous rappers in Nigeria continue to draw inspiration from Dagrin, who is generally considered a pioneer in the genre.

Pon Pon Pon, Thank God (feat. Omawumi), Kondo, If I Die, and countless more songs were among his numerous hits.

At the young age of twenty-five, he passed away.
