“I remember how shy I was the first time I met Don Jazzy. I would be in the studio with my brother, and if he left the room, we would both look at each other and scream, “Oh, my God!” But when I met him, he was the coolest person I’d ever met. He just wanted to talk to me and find out what I was thinking. He could tell how badly I wanted it,” she said.
Don Jazzy said that he knew he wanted to work with Ayra Starr as soon as he saw her singing one of her own songs on Instagram.

“I saw a video of her singing one of her own songs for the first time on Instagram. Even though she looked young, her voice was so strong. I knew right away that I’d like to work with her. I sent her a direct message asking her and a parent to our studio,” he said.
