On Thursday, President Muhammadu Buhari met with the 23 attackers on the train between Abuja and Kaduna who had been set free.
After commissioning NDA cadets from the 69 Regular Course in Afaka, Kaduna State, the President made an unscheduled trip to the NDA hospital to view the victims of the train incident.
Buhari commended the Nigerian military for their valiant efforts in ensuring the hostages’ safe release from Boko Haram terrorists before boarded NAF 001 back to Abuja from the Kaduna International Airport.
The hospital was visited by members of the Chief of Defence Staff Action Committee, chaired by Maj.-Gen. Usman Abdulkadir (Rtd), who helped arrange the release of the train victims.
Recall that on Wednesday, the 23 victims of the Abuja-Kaduna train who remained captive were freed.
The captives were freed at 4 o’clock, according to Usman Yusuf, Secretary of the Chief of Defence Staff Action Committee, who made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday.
On March 28, 2022, militants from Boko Haram attacked a moving passenger train in Kaduna, Nigeria, and kidnapped the victims.
