President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa has received a plea from Prophet Godwin Ikuru, the General Overseer of Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry, asking him to put an end to xenophobic assaults.

The preacher urged Ramaphosa to take action against the offenders and denounced the targeting of Nigerians and other nations residing in the nation.

President Bola Tinubu and other heads of state attended the event on Wednesday to officially inaugurate the South African leader for a second term.

Ikuru urged Ramaphosa to promote democracy by keeping his campaign pledges to both locals and visitors in a statement released on Friday.

“Xenophobic incidents must end immediately. We Africans need to show off our solidarity and patch up differences. There should never be a place for violence he said.

However, the priest pleaded with Nigerians to allow President Tinubu more time to turn around the economy, pointing out that most of the time great policy outcomes take time to materialize.

“The public ought to have the patience to let the President fulfill his campaign promises. He thus need more of our prayers. Ikuru said, “I envisage a better Nigeria in not too distant a time.

In his remarks about the Edo State gubernatorial contest, the cleric projected Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to win.

Prophet Ikuru declared, “The APC candidate will win the gubernatorial election which will be held on September 22. The PDP will come in second.”

Former Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu disassociated himself from PDP candidate Asue Ighodalo this week and declared his support for the APC flagbearer.

“In Edo State, there are just two homeboys in the main political parties. Two are in the APC and one is in Labour. Shaibu said, “I’ve decided to follow another homeboy in the APC.”
