Anambra State’s 2023 House of Representatives candidate Jude Oguejiofor was murdered by assailants.
Although he made his home in Nnewi, Oguejiofor was originally from Orsumoghu in Anambra’s Ihiala LGA.
Oguejiofor was a lawyer who ran for the House of Representatives from the Ihiala Federal Constituency in the 2023 election as a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate.
The lawmaker and his brother were kidnapped by masked individuals at 1 am a few days ago, according to sources who spoke with 460PLAY.
They had traveled to the Orsumoghu Community to visit their aging parents when the tragedy occurred.
His brother is a doctor who lives abroad; yet, the assailants eventually let him go unharmed.
According to an anonymous family member, the shooters accused Oguejiofor of petitioning the community to condemn them and their actions.
They claimed he was submitting petitions to the Anambra State Government against them, according to the source.
A police officer who requested anonymity confirmed the development, although the Anambra State Police command has not yet responded officially.
