In Kano, customs officials seized 241 empty bottles of OTRAVIN nasal drops

A passenger was apprehended by the Nigeria Customs Service, Kano/Jigawa Area Command and other security agents with 241 empty OTRAVIN packets and 80 pieces of OTRAVIN nasal drops.

“Significant” was the description given by Saidu Nuruddeen, the command’s public relations officer, in a statement.

Ethiopian Airlines Flight ET941, which landed Monday at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport from Cairo, was apprehended by the command.

During a combined security check at around 1:00 hours today, an Ethiopian Airlines flight from Cairo (ET941) was stopped.

Upon inspection, the traveler’s bags included 241 empty OTRAVIN packets and 80 individual nasal drop vials.

A seamless handover to NAFDAC is being facilitated, and the goods have been seized in compliance with due process,” Nuruddeen stated.

He said that the operation’s success proved the value of cooperation between government agencies and the dedication of their employees to the fight against smuggling and the protection of the nation.

The Customs Area Controller, Compt. Dauda Ibrahim Chana, was praised by him and his management team for their unwavering support and leadership by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi.
