In Kano State, two former commissioners who worked for Abdullahi Ganduje’s most recent administration have passed away.
The two commissioners, Alhassan Muhammad Dawaki and Barrister Zubaida Damakka, who were in charge of the budget and economic planning as well as local government and chieftaincy affairs, respectively, passed away on Friday.
According to a statement made by Ibrahim Garba Shu’aibu, the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Alhassan Muhammad Dawaki passed away at the age of 79 following a brief illness and left behind wives and 15 children.
Barrister Zubaida Damakka passed away in Abuja following a brief illness, according to a former Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Media named Abubakar Aminu Ibrahim. She is survived by her husband, three children, and two stepchildren.
On Sunday, Kano held their funeral prayers in accordance with Islamic customs.
According to the statement, Dawaki was a well-known and respected individual whose untimely death had left many people feeling empty within.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf lamented the enormous loss that Dawaki’s passing signified and prayed for the enduring fortitude and comfort of the bereaved family during the trying time of grief.
