The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps will be investigated by the House of Representatives (NSCDC).
The investigation will look into possible anomalies in hiring and promoting personnel during the last ten years.
This resolution was passed after a proposal by Reps. Awaji-Inombek Abiante (PDP-Rivers) and Dumnamene Dekor was approved on Tuesday (PDP-Rivers).
Abiante claimed that when hiring new employees, the NSCDC did not adhere to the federal character tenets.
He claimed that corruption, racketeering, favoritism, and nepotism had contaminated the process.
The legislator said, “There was no advertising involved in the enlistment procedures.”
The Interior, Federal Character, and Public Service Matters Committees of the House were ordered to question agency representatives.
In six weeks, a report is anticipated; following that, additional legislative action will be done.
